OrakCon began with the vision of Ed Sensig, a Shriner who believed tabletop gaming could bring people together. What started as a small local convention has grown into a community event supported by volunteers, game masters, vendors, and hobbyists who share that same passion for gaming and fellowship.
Today, OrakCon remains proudly hosted by Orak Shriners while welcoming everyone to the table. Inspired bythe Masonic values of community, service, and personal growth, our goal is simple: create a fun, welcoming convention where families, longtime gamers, and first-time players can discover new games, make lasting memories, and become part of Northwest Indiana’s tabletop community.
Roleplaying Games
Roleplaying games have always been at the heart of OrakCon. Whether you’re a lifelong adventurer or picking up a d20 for the very first time, you’ll find a table waiting for you. Fromepic fantasy campaigns to fast-paced one-shot adventures, our Game Masters create unforgettable experiences built around imagination, teamwork, and the simple joy of telling agreat story together.
The centerpiece of OrakCon is our pair of all-day signature campaigns. Both the Hi-Roller Campaign and Lo-Roller Campaign are limited to just six players, allowing every participant to become a central part of the story. Throughout the day, your party will embark on a complete adventure with scheduled breaks for meals, shopping, and exploring the rest of the convention before returning to see the adventure through to its conclusion.
The Hi-Roller Campaign is OrakCon’s premier tabletop experience. For $100 per player, your registration includes convention admission, an exclusive Hi-Roller Swag Bag, and a limited-edition copy of the official OrakCon Adventure Book. Be among the first to experience a brand-new Dungeons & Dragons adventure as it debuts at OrakCon before taking home a collectibleconvention edition to run for your own group. With an experienced Game Master guiding the adventure, the Hi-Roller Campaign is designed to be an unforgettable day of gaming.
Our Lo-Roller Campaign offers a day of Pathfinder adventure for $50 per player, with convention admission included. Also limited to just six players, it delivers the same intimate, story-driven experience in a traditional convention format, making it an excellent choice for players who want to spend the day immersed in a memorable adventure.
If you’re looking for something more flexible, our Open Play area keeps the dice rolling throughout the day with HeroQuest sessions and Dungeons & Dragons one-shots. Drop inbetween scheduled events, introduce a friend to roleplay gaming, or gather around the table with new friends for an adventure that lasts an hour or an afternoon. Whether you’re planning your entire day around an epic campaign or simply looking to roll a few dice between events, OrakCon has a seat waiting at the table.
Warhammer Tournament
At OrakCon, commanders from across the region gather to test their tactical skill in our 20-player Warhammer 40,000 Tournament, battling it out for supremacy.
Compete through a full day of exciting matches on thoughtfully designed terrain in an atmosphere built around fair play and good sportsmanship. Every game is an opportunity to outmaneuver your opponent, adapt to the battlefield, and prove your army has what it takes to claim victory. Tournament registration includes admission to OrakCon, giving you the opportunity to enjoy everything the convention has to offer throughout the day.

Miniature Painting Competition
New for 2027, OrakCon is proud to introduce our first Miniature Painting Competition, celebrating the incredible artistry and creativity of the tabletop hobby. This year’s competition features a single category: one infantry miniature on a 60mm base or smaller. Whether it’s a legendary hero, a fearsome villain, or your favorite tabletop character, we invite painters of every skill level to showcase their best work. Every miniature tells a storythrough color, technique, and imagination, and we can’t wait to see what our community creates.
Throughout the convention, attendees can browse the display cases, admire the craftsmanshipon display, and discover inspiration from fellow hobbyists. From tabletop-ready heroes tostunning display pieces, the competition celebrates one of the most rewarding aspects of miniature gaming.
At the close of the convention, all competition entries will be sold through a silent auction,giving attendees the opportunity to take home a one-of-a-kind painted miniature while supporting OrakCon. Whether you’re entering a model, bidding on your favorite piece, or simply appreciating the talent on display, the Miniature Painting Competition is a celebration of thecreativity that brings our hobby to life.
